I’m from Japan and now call Ohio home. I enjoy walking alongside others on their life journeys. I most often meet with Japanese women. I am married to my childhood friend, a mother of three children in college, and a companion to a golden retriever mix. My husband and I have been involved in Japanese ministry for over 25 years.

I am on a lifelong journey of surrendering into my identity as a beloved child of God. Spiritual direction and soul care have been been seeds of grace in the transformational process. When I offer spiritual direction, it is about setting a table, providing safe space to come as we are to notice and respond to Jesus – the one who loves us, knows us, and sustains us. My prayer for my directees is that they too would “taste and see that the Lord is good” and know increasingly what it is to “dwell in the house of the Lord” together.

God’s invitation led Claire and her husband, Chris, on an 18-year unfolding journey which culminated in the opening of Kerith Retreat, a beautiful space in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Calvin College, a Master of Divinity degree from Calvin Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. David received his training in Leadership Transformation’s Selah Certificate Program in Spiritual Direction, and offers direction under an ongoing relationship with a supervisor and by participating in a peer supervision group. He abides by the Code of Ethics of the Evangelical Spiritual Directors Association.
