Tanya completed Selah's certificate in Spiritual Direction in 2025. She loves how the practice of hospitality reflects the heart of God. She considers it a privilege to offer hospitable presence to others as they seek to discern and respond to the Lord. Her background includes an MA in Christian Thought and a certificate in Soul Care. In this recent season, the core values of Selah's training have been a precious reminder to her of our deep longing and need to remain attentive and present to the Triune God who graciously draws us into communion with Himself.

I have a deep desire to see others spiritually formed through a deepening intimacy with the Trinity. For me, providing a safe place to prayerfully explore how God is leading and at work is the core of spiritual direction. Having served as a pastor for over 25 years, I have a heart for pastors and ministry leaders. Knowing the unique challenges they face, I value and cherish the opportunity to walk alongside ministry leaders in direction. My academic training includes a MDiv, STM, and DMin.

As a spiritual director, I create and hold a safe, sacred space for the directee to slow and soften into their own truth in their own life experience to attune to the divine. Restlessness, life transitions, gentle nudges, or a longing for a deeper relationship with God may lead one to explore spiritual direction.

My journey into spiritual direction came out of a desire to be WITH God: to respond with my whole self to His overwhelming, steadfast love for me. For most of my life I have lived an exhausting Christian life - always DOING things for God fueled my false identity of achievement stemming from my career in technology sales. Being WITH God allows me to be my true self: a human BEING, not a human DOING, basking in the joy of contemplative stillness with God. Through spiritual direction I long to companion others in this life-giving posture with our loving father.

After 15 years of ministry with Wycliffe Bible translators I entered a period of transition seeking Gods place and vocational call for this next season of my life. I feel my call to ministry is to serve my brothers and sisters with the gifts and experience God has given me; to support thier discovery and living out of Gods unique calling for them. It is my great joy to companion and watch the unfolding journey of those seeking deeper intimacy with Jesus.

Spiritual direction provides someone to walk with you in your spiritual journey; a companion to help you notice the often-subtle interior movement of God in your life that is so often missed as we go through life accomplishing goals, raising a family, and serving our neighbors. My intention is to walk with you as your intimacy with God grows. The spiritual direction training I received was through Leadership Transformation’s Selah program, and my academic background includes a master’s degree in Spiritual Formation, a J.D., and an in-process DMin, also in spiritual formation.
